The meeting brought together representatives of leading industrial and technology companies from Saarland, including Becker Mining Systems, SHS Group, Saarstahl, Dillinger Hütte, Klaus Faber Kabel, Saarländische Wasserstoffagentur GmbH, as well as the leadership of the Saarland Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov held a meeting with representatives of the business community from the German federal state of Saarland, led by State Secretary and Plenipotentiary of Saarland to the Federal Government, Torsten Bischoff. The meeting took place within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Bundesrat of Germany , Anke Rehlinger.
The meeting brought together representatives of leading industrial and technology companies from Saarland, including Becker Mining Systems, SHS Group, Saarstahl, Dillinger Hütte, Klaus Faber Kabel, Saarländische Wasserstoffagentur GmbH, as well as the leadership of the Saarland Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The discussions focused on expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, with a special emphasis on hydrogen energy development, the metallurgical sector, logistics, and ecological and infrastructure projects.
Particular attention was paid to opportunities for cooperation in the production of green hydrogen. German companies reaffirmed their strong interest in Kazakhstan as one of the countries with the highest potential for hydrogen generation.
Becker Mining expressed its readiness to deepen technological collaboration with Kazakh partners, particularly in the areas of automation and digitalization in the mining sector. Stahl-Holding-Saar indicated its interest in sourcing raw materials from Kazakhstan and exploring local partnerships to develop low-carbon production capacities. Educational initiatives, including collaboration with Saarland University, were also discussed.
The meeting also addressed the prospects of establishing production facilities in Kazakhstan using German technologies, the potential for know-how transfer, and attracting German capital through platforms such as the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) and special economic zones.

Our economies are highly complementary: we offer raw materials and logistics, you bring technologies and investment. Today’s meeting marked an important step toward launching joint projects in green energy, industry, and logistics. We are grateful to the Saarland delegation for a constructive dialogue and express our strong interest in systematic and long-term cooperation,” stated Deputy Minister Kuantyrov.
The visit of the Saarland delegation represents another step in strengthening interregional cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany and reaffirms the strong interest of German businesses in the Kazakhstani market.
